Getting Started – Quick Start Guide

Congratulations on your decision to use the Hoopah for
Kids – A Children’s Operating System to Protect your Computer from your Child
and your Child from the Internet.
Getting started with the Hoopah for Kids is easy. Start by
familiarizing yourself with the Hoopah for Kids Task Bar shown above. If you are
not currently viewing the Hoopah for Kids Task Bar simply double-click the
Hoopah World icon on your Windows Operating System. It will bring you into the
Hoopah for Kids Operating System.
Step 1 - Familiarizing your self with Hoopah for Kids Operating System
Try exploring the preconfigured games and educational programs by clicking on the icon at the top of the Hoopah for Kids Operating System. These are only a small portion of the games and educational programs available to you.
Step 2 - Hoopah for Kids - Parental Controls
The Hoopah for Kids Parental Controls area can be accessed inside or outside of the Hoopah for Kids Operating System. Assuming you are viewing this page from within the Hoopah for Kids Operating System,
click the red 'X' in the upper right-hand corner. You will then be presented with a dialog box to provide your password (blank at first use).

After entering your password (blank on first use), you will be provided with a configuration screen similar to the one shown below:

Click the Download New Sites... menu option from the Tools
menu to ensure you have the latest sites installed before configuring your
child's desktop.

Items that are checked within the configuration screen will be displayed within the Hoopah for Kids Operating System after the "Done" Button is clicked. When a specific site is selected within this screen, it can be reviewed by clicking the "View" Button.
Step 3 - Setting a Password
From the same configuration screen used above, click the Set Password menu option from the Tools Menu, just above the Download New Sites menu option. This will display the following window.

Note: You can leave the password blank if you desire.
Troubleshooting
If you have trouble
installing the software please [Click Here].
If you are having trouble viewing a specific page, first
verify that you can view the page in your current web browser, for example
Internet Explorer. If your continue to have problems, please visit our
[System Verification] page to ensure that you
have the appropriate multimedia plug-ins installed.
Please note: The Hoopah for Kids Operating System is optimized for slow speed Internet connections and even allows some sites to be viewed offline; however, when initially configuring the Hoopah for Kids application an Internet connection is required.
Also note: when first installed, some applications and
websites run at a slower speed until Hoopah is finished configuring the
desktop for optimal use.
