Control is the key!
Using Kidview Computer Explorer,
your computer is transformed into a kid safe playground. All undesirable
Internet garbage is removed, popup ads never appear, and even right-click
options (normally found in all browsers) are disabled. Your child can only go
to sites you have specifically chosen. These sites will appear as colorful
icons at the top of the screen. For your convenience, we constantly review the
best web sites for children and provide these sites from a pick-list within
the parent and teachers control menu (there is never any charge for this service). Children
can even be restricted from clicking links that would take them away from a
site you have specified to one that you have not (this feature is enabled by
default). Finally, all parental controls and even closing of the Kidview
Computer Explorer is restricted by a password, chosen by you. Without knowing the
password a child cannot leave the safe environment provided by Kidview
Computer Explorer.
Assuming you have the “Automatically Download New Sites” option selected (selected by default),
Kidview Computer Explorer will periodically (about once/month) connect to hoopah.com and download any new sites that have been reviewed and are recommended. After new sites have been downloaded, you will be presented with the list of new sites the next time you
enter the parent and teacher controls area. Here you will have the opportunity to choose any of the new sites that may be of interest to you
and make them available to your child. As always, if you find a web site that would be of benefit to your child and is not available from the pick-list, simply click the “Add” button to add the site just as you would if you were displaying it in your
web browser.
Children as young as 2 years old can enjoy your computer and all of the wonders the Internet has to offer. So how do you ensure that your computer will survive the use of you child especially when left alone?
Answer: Kidview Computer Explorer locks-down your computer so that all files and/or programs are inaccessible from your child. No matter how much clicking and keyboarding is done, your child will never be able to access, run, delete, change, or in anyway “crash” your computer while
Kidview Computer Explorer is running. With regard to the physical computer (keyboard, mouse, case, etc.), we recommend placing as much of the computer system as possible out-of-reach. For items your child will need, such as the keyboard and mouse, inexpensive ($9.99 -$19.99) spill proof keyboards and child-size mice can be purchased at your local retail store.
